Good day, It is pass monday and I am finally getting to write my last blog to you this after finishing the paper work for the end of the year.
We will be having free hot dogs and ice cream on Wed., compliments of our local Credit Union.
Fri. we will be selling Fries for lunch to raise money for the breakfast program of next year.
The children will be allowed each an order with the possibility of two ,supplies depending.
Children will be bring lots of items home, if they have too much paper or crayons I am sure the l near by kindergarden or YMCA or Salvation Army can use them.
We are going to work a little, and have fun for the next three days.
I have given your child a map to my cottage so if you are in the area, please drop in.
These few months with your children have been just a delight.I love the age these children are at. Still very innocent and so eager and full of life.
There is no more homework as such but it will be in your hands for the summer. I would suggest that you have a reading time with your child for the summer. There are so many times and places in the summer for your child to learn, use them and have fun.
Have a great Summer.bye!

June 7

It is the end of May and the students are restless. Last week the class talked about where we are comfortable to do our reading or to do pleasure reading. Many places were mentioned. For the month of June we are allowing the children to bring in their favorite cushion, soft chair, pillow or foam mat so they can be more comfortable while reading in class. It is very important that the students learn to enjoy reading. During the summer we will be encouraging them to read out loud, read silently or better yet the parents can read to them( French or English).
In Science and Language Arts we are still on insects. We made an ant farm and we will see tomorrow if they survived the weekend. They were still going strong on Sat.
Math is more challenging as we are subtracting 52-18=____. this is still a challenge for many but we are advancing along slowly.
Dictée is the word Liste 25 la ville, une bulle, la colle,il appelle il flotte,la Terre, une patte, il arrive.
There are still freezes being sold for $.50 each. Many children have money for a freeze on Monday, you may wish to check with them about the other days. They will be sold until the supply is gone.
We read a story about SOUP last Friday and many students said they had made some with a adult before. If it is something you do make your child can bring a bowl to school with the recipe to share with the class and I will heat it up for them. Hopefully before the end of the year we can make a pot for the class.
Monday morning we are going to a bike safety lecture put on by the police. Your child was told he or she could bring their helmets to school to get them properly fitted.
Please check the school calendar and the notes from the principal as there are a lot of activities for the month of June.

What a great day for a holiday. I hope you were able to enjoy the family time.
In Language Arts we are working on spring and summer readings. Most of these are about what you see and do in the two seasons. It goes along with our science where we are going to try and create a ant colony in a fish bowl.I am sure you will hear if we are successful or not. We are learning about insect and we will be doing some outside observations and collections.
In Math we are subtracting and this week we are starting to borrow. We have a few math games that we play which most students enjoy.
The Dictée for this week is lesson 24. The words are: un arbre,le jardin, fort, il tourne,la mer, le mur,il parle, une formi. .
We are also going to be doing words that grade two students should know so look each day for new spelling words. They will be asked 5 words each day and they only have to learn the ones they had trouble with.
On Tues. some students are going to have a field trip to Elm Street school.
The quick changes in temperature has some students being very cold on outside recesses. Please still insist on sweaters in their school bags.
Have a great week
